Dr. Strangelove for the New YearPosted by Kory Swanson at 11:05 AM In a wonderful column in the December 30 edition of the Financial Times titled For Fast Relief of the Credit Markets, Democritise Them, John Dizard invokes the immortal novel and movie Dr. Strangelove as an explanatory model for understanding some of the global economic mess. He zeroes in on the overwhelming use of the General "Buck" Turgidson defense among those in charge--"Whether its nuclear war or depression the first priority must be to make sure those in charge aren't blamed."
