The latest revelation from the News & Observer's Andy Curliss: While in office, former Gov. Mike Easley got nearly $50,000 in membership benefits from an exclusive private golf club for free ... and never disclosed it.

The Easley spin machine (now that Mary's out of work, where's Mike getting the money to pay these people?) says he really didn't need to disclose because the "benefits" he received from membership never exceeded the $200 threshold that triggers the reporting requirement.
Even worse, said Easley handler Ace Smith,
"Any insinuation otherwise is misleading and libelous."
Be looking forward to that lawsuit, counselor.
