A Krispy, Kremey morsel of educational reform

But I thought that our schools were supposed to be part of the solution to our childhood-obesity epidemic!

Maybe we need profiling to catch America's sleeper cells of the no-talent attention whores before they do it again.
John's true motive
Posted by Dr. Roy Cordato at 2:53 PM
John Hood's Daily Journal from Monday tells the story of how he murdered, uh, I mean remorsefully killed a snake in his garage. He related this aggressive act, uh, I mean this act of pure self defense, to alternative theories of war. Well this news item out of New Jersey suggests his true motive--he needed an assault weapon. Before any liberals get any ideas, remember dead snakes don't kill people, people do...and, oh yeah, when dead snakes are outlawed only outlaws will have dead snakes.
Urban myth alert

I have now received the following email twice in the last two days. Without bothering to verify it, I can tell you that is a myth. Here is the email text:
Kerry gave a big speech last week about how his faith is so "important" to him. In this attempt to convince the American people that we should consider him for president, he announced that his favorite Bible verse is John 16:3. Of course the speech writer meant John 3:16, but nobody in the Kerry camp was familiar enough with scripture to catch the error. And do you know what John 16:3 says?
John 16:3 says, "They will do such things because they have not known the Father or me."
The Spirit works in strange ways.
I know this is a myth because four years ago I received several copies of the same email with Al Gore as the scriptural spoonerist. So if you get the "current" one, please tell the sender. Thanks!

The Lincoln County Board of Education might well be eligible for the coveted award for Most Dysfunctional and Ethically Challenged group of elected officials in North Carolina. The latest news is that the chairwoman of the board, a former head of the NC School Boards Association, has been arrested on a charge of possessing $620,000 worth of stolen property. Her son and husband are also implicated.
