Obama and transparency

Elaine Chao, in my view by far the best of Bush's cabinet officials, established a reporting requirement for labor unions requiring the disclosure of conflicts of interest. President Obama, who campaigned on a pledge of openness and transparency, has just rescinded that union reporting requirement. Here is the press release of the Alliance for Worker Freedom on this matter.

So, transparency is good except when it comes to aggressive pro-Obama interest groups.
