Sen. Reid puts the choice before us in stark termsPosted by Jon Sanders at 1:56 PM After reading Reid's remarks, I see we as a nation have reached a fiscal T-intersection. We can be "mean-spirited" and reactionary against running $500-Billion-plus deficits annually for the foreseeable future, -OR- we can have publicly funded Cowboy Poetry Festivals and other neat activities on Titanic. Choose wisely: ... The National Endowment of the Humanities is the reason we have in northern Nevada every January a cowboy poetry festival. Had that program not been around, the tens of thousands of people who come there every year would not exist. ... (Note: Compelling reason suggests Reid is wrong on his last point and that those tens of thousands of people would still exist, even without Cowboy Poetry Festivals.) » Return to posts for March 08, 2011 » Return to the Locker Room
