The N&R’s Doug Clark (unposted) calls for Republicans to kill the lottery:
..It will take courage to kill it. On paper, it will look like a bad idea to write off $400 million in revenue. And it will be unpopular. No question the lottery has a loyal following.
Which includes, oh, I don’t know, Guilford County commissioners, who will call for a bigger chunk of lottery funds to pay off its massive school construction debt.
