Chalk another one up for the Henderson County Commissioners. They unanimously approved an unprecedented request for a re-insurance waiver. No local governments had requested a waiver, but other organizations, mostly “strongly-unionized” ones, have gotten them. The commissioners and the county manager are rightly of the opinion that the requirement only raises the costs of insurance for no purpose.
