The next step in high-density living is on the board in Los Angeles, where a developer wants to build a seven-story shopping mall on Wilshire Boulevard. “Vertical” malls, as they’re known, are common in crowded cities abroad, and Jerry Snyder and Michael Wise believe this is the next step for LA, where the area they’re looking at is home to 1.5 million people within five miles. This story reminds why LA and NYC are nice places to visit, but I wouldn’t want to live there.
