I often criticize people who sit around a table trying to grow the economy – as opposed to producing something marketable. Polk County took it one step backward and decided to hire a consultant to help develop strategies for growing “the right kind of” economy. The consultant, Robert Williamson, stated:
Growth will happen in Polk County with or without a plan just because we are who we are and where we are.
