This week, the NC Division of Non-Public Education released home school estimates for the 2018-19 school year. Overall, 142,037 children attended 90,688 home schools last school year, which is a 4.6 percent increase in the number of home school students statewide. Over the last five school years, the home school population increased by a staggering 33 percent.
With an enrollment of 13,022, Wake County still boasts the largest home school population.
