The local daily discovered in a “legal notice” that Buncombe County is preparing to build a $6.5 million indoor pool.
There is no location yet for the covered competition pool, though property in Woodfin is listed since the county owns land there. It’s possible that the project actually won’t happen anywhere, County Manager Wanda Greene said. Officials included the pool in the list of financing projects because it is easier to take something out than to try to add it later and get extra money, Greene said.
