The Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI) held Locations Show 2012 last week.  What is the AFCI Locations Show?  According to the website,

Locations Show 2012 creates the industry’s premier platform for bringing together the full scope of industry professionals. From independent filmmakers to industry veterans, this is the one location where the production community has access to the vast range of incentives, production locations, and business and support services essential to the industry. (Emphasis added.)

This is where the film industry meets with representatives from state film offices to find out how much corporate welfare they can extort, sorry, receive from taxpayer-funded film incentive programs.

Aaron Syrett, Director of the North Carolina Film Office, was in L.A. for the conference.  To add insult to injury, he was on a panel – “Production Incentive Experience – Get Your Slice of the Pie!”
