20 years and tossed to the curb like a bag of garbage*

The Journal reports:

After 20 years with WXII, sports director Dave Goren is out of a job.

“I can tell you they did not renew my contract,” he said this morning.

Goren’s last day on the air was Thanksgiving. He was on vacation for week, and had been scheduled to return to the air yesterday. He learned earlier this week that the station was not renewing his contract, which expires at the end of January. He does not expect to be back on the air.

The station declined to comment.

“I cannot talk about anybody’s deal,” said Hank Price, the president and general manager of WXII.
Goren celebrated his 20th anniversary at WXII in September.
