A Buncombe County greenways master plan should be complete by the middle of 2012. The plan is made possible through $50,000 from Buncombe County taxpayers, $50,000 from the French Broad Metropolitan Planning Organization, and $15,000 from voluntary contributions to the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation.
Next will come a public relations effort as county officials continue to push the health and economic benefits of greenways. It could all lead up to a bond issue.
