The USPS has decided to delay closing stations, including the very good one on Brevard Road in Asheville. It also announced it will delay until about May lowering standards to promise mail will have no hope of being delivered next-day. Postal service representatives complained about the debt the post office owes:

“If we could get to where we could stop having to make all of those crazy overpayments, we could get back into making money,” said Joanne Guess, president of the Asheville local of the American Postal Workers Union.
