It’s important to note that in Buncombe County, the southern precincts are the last to turn in their results, and they are the most conservative. It is not unusual for an election to totally turn around in the final hour.
 In the Democrat race, Obama is beating Hillary 58 to 41%.  Fox News is saying we’re all racists. Whites are voting for Hillary, and Blacks for Obama. Holly Jones remains the only Commission candidate with an appreciable lead.
 Ron Paul and Mike Huckabee are slipping in the Republican race. Pittenger is holding on to his lead. In spite of tales of corruption flooding the radio waves, Richard Morgan has over 50% of the votes for Superintendent of Public Instruction in a three-way primary. Joe Dunn is squeaking ahead of the competition in the commissioners’ race with 25% of the vote.
