Watauga High School is about to get LEED certified. The article in the Watauga Democrat says everything people have been saying about LEED certification. One common tater did some homework and posted some expenses. She asked:

What is the purpose? Are insurance rates lower? Isn’t it enough to build the building the environmentally correct way and be pleased with the results?

To which another common tater replied:

According to my dad, Project Manager Don Critcher, the certification allows the school to receive additional funding and government grants for becoming LEED certified. So, there are many long term benefits to this approval.
