Again invoking the widely popular and idiotic practice of establishing foregone conclusions with stray numbers thrown in a pretty chart; one finds the correlation between the perceived need to establish traffic stops and holiday weekends runs high. It is “therefore” “reasonable” to conclude the US should discontinue nationalizing holidays – for safety and chi-i-i-i-i-ildren. But until then:

Called “On the Road, On the Water, Don’t Drink and Drive,” the campaign kicks off today and runs through Monday. It will feature the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission along with the Highway Patrol, Alcohol Law Enforcement Division and local law enforcement agencies combining forces to target impaired driving by motorists near water recreation sites as well as by boaters on lakes and waterways.

So, if you want to avoid getting a ticket as you use technology to get from place to place in an impaired state this Labor Day weekend, it is advisable to drive your cars in the water and your boats on the road.
