NC State’s Technician has an article about how “women are increasingly getting tattoos,” and noted one popular form of tattoos among women: Kanji (Japanese characters).
Here’s a cautionary note to NC State women: Be careful about getting tattooed in a language that you yourself cannot read.
But don’t take my word for it. Just ask Nikki, for example, who asked that she have her name rendered in Chinese characters, only to find out later that what her tattoo actually said was “Way dagger, empty, empty, dagger.” Or Lee, who thought his Mandarin tattoo said “Love, honor and obey,” but it actually said “At the end of the day, this is an ugly boy.”
