North Carolina is one of the few states that still imposes “win-back” restrictions on AT&T out of the fear that the phone giant will attempt to intimidate customers trying to ditch AT&T. AT&T, of course, wants the reg gone.

Now even though all phone companies sprang from the depths of Satan’s loins and are as trustworthy as crack addicts, I think it is safe for the Public Utilities Commission to turn this item loose. The commission needs to be on the watch for non-competitive behavior from the monopoly, however, especially as it rolls out its make-or-break TV service in the state.
