Responding to my ?Daily Journal? column today excoriating Britt Cobb (once again) for pursuing his irresponsible demand for a new state election for ag commissioner, Hickory developer and JLF board member Andy Wells sent me this comment:

In all the discussion, nobody ever talks about the cost to the citizens of going out to vote again. What is the expected number of voters times the average time (and travel expense) times the average income per hour. I expect it to make the $3 million cost to administer the vote look minor.

I?m offended that the state only thinks in terms of its direct cost as if our citizens? time is of no value.
