Already faced with slashing five jobs, Rockingham County Sheriff Sam Page was also willing to put a hold on his new sheriff’s office to put a dent in the county’s $1 million budget deficit:
But Rockingham County Manager Tom Robinson said that idea is not feasible. Having architects redesign it would add to the project’s $45 million price tag. Making any changes also would push back by several months the targeted completion date of summer 2010.
“At this late date, we can’t do that,” Robinson said Tuesday.
Darn it.
