It’s so obvious! If students didn’t have to pay back their loans, they’d be able to spend more and that would do wonders to reinvigorate the economy. If you doubt that, just read this petition.
It’s a great idea, but doesn’t go far enough. Why not have the government cancel all debts — not just student loans? If Americans didn’t have to make mortgage payments, car payments and so on, the stimulus would be far greater. And while we’re at it, how about having helicopters drop bundles of money?
