The latest Rhino Times — which you should have picked up already — has an exclusive look at who is may build the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Mark Pellin reveals:
A relationship between the chairman of the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority Board of Directors and a firm that apparently was selected as the construction manager for the NASCAR Hall of Fame is raising some eyebrows.
Luther Cochrane, chairman of the13-member CRVA Board of Directors, is the chief executive officer of BE&K Building Group, which includes the FN Thompson Company. That company is part of the Turner-Thompson-Davis team that submitted a proposal to become the construction management firm for the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
The CRVA would run the Hall for NASCAR. This could mean that Luther Cochrane, builder, would be building the Hall for Luther Cochrane, CRVA chairman. The city says this potential relationship is just fine.
For Charlotte, no doubt.
