NC Policy Watch has just published a fact-free diatribe
against what they claim to be the “market fundamentalist” position on
environmental issues like global warming, mercury regulations, and the
endangered species act.
What is particularly gratifying about the piece
is that it makes no attempt to actually refute, using scientific
references or real data, anything we on the market fundamentalist side
argue. While we go out of our way to cite peer-reviewed scientific
literature or actual data, the best Policy Watch can come up with is a
string of assertions made by anti-market fundamentalist (read
socialist) environmental groups like the Southern Environmental Law
Center. My view is that if the enviros could refute our facts and
arguments, they would, but because they can’t, they resort to ridicule and
invective. This is the greatest compliment that our adversaries can pay
us. No wonder they are never willing to publicly debate these issues face to face.
