Greensboro Police Officer A.J. Blake has been fired—– again.

Remember Blake was fired in July 2009 by former Police Chief Tim Bellamy while awaiting trial on assault charges, for which he was eventually acquitted. Blake would later be reinstated by interim City Manager Bob Morgan.

Blake has 10 days to appeal the decision to City Manager Rashad Young. If Young upholds Blake’s termination —which he certainly will, Blake will almost certainly file a lawsuit. Remember also Blake “is one of 39 minority officers suing the city on grounds of racial discrimination during the tenure of former Chief David Wray.”
