The Rhino’s John Hammer puts the proposed City of Greensboro bonds in proper perspective.

The interesting thing is Hammer isn’t talking about the bonds in this Rhino article. Hammer’s talking about the proposed $92k “cultural audit” of city employees:

How do you turn a simple request for a free survey of city employees into a six-month, $92,000 extravaganza? Mitch Magic.

It is astounding the absurdity that the majority on the Greensboro City Council is willing to put up with these days.

…..Wonder why your city taxes are so high? Take a free idea by a councilmember and it becomes a $92,000 project by city staff.

“Mitchmagic” is referring to —you guessed it— City Manager Mitchell Johnson. What I’m hitting on is this is the group that wants us to approve more debt so they can fix things — like Horsepen Creek Road —- that they should be fixing anyway. In the meantime, they’re focusing on “cultural audits.” Something to think about.
