Next Tuesday, 6th District Republican voters will decide the primary runoff race between Phil Berger Jr. and Mark Walker. Both men are vying for the GOP nomination for the 6th District congressional seat being vacated by retiring Congressman Howard Coble. A portion of Orange County is in the district. The News & Record takes a look at the fundraising of both campaigns as well as support from outside groups.
For the entire election cycle, Berger has raised $461,756 and spent $433,922.
Of that, $128,350 comes from PACs and similar groups.
Walker has raised $315,059 and spent $274,300.
Of that, $400 comes from PACs and similar groups and $12,928 that Walker gave to his campaign.
The two men came out on top in the May primary, but neither took the required 40 percent of the vote to automatically move on to the Nov. 4 general election.
