According to recently found letter of his, C.S. Lewis opposed any live-action adaptations of his “Narnia” series:
“Anthropomorphic animals, when taken out of narrative into actual visibility, always turn into buffoonery or nightmare — at least with photography,” he wrote.
He must have been imagining Mr. Ed or Francis the Talking Mule when considering the possibilities.
