Anyone who has prepared a press release for future distribution can feel the pain of the public relations staffer who committee this gaffe.
I’m reminded of a former sportscaster colleague who used to record the early-morning “teaser” the day before it was scheduled to air. The “cart” would include two versions of the teaser: the home team wins, or the home team loses.
This colleague did a good job remembering to call us if we needed to change the teaser. Occasionally, operator error would allow the wrong one to hit the air. Bad news.
