The current issue of The Freeman contains an article of mine entitled The Four Mistakes of Nonlibertarians, available here.

In short, nonlibertarians tend to 1) overestimate the problems arising out of freedom, 2) to underestimate the ability of free people to solve problems without coercion, 3) to overestimate the ability of government to solve problems, and 4) to underestimate the problems caused by governmental coercion.

The hook for the piece is a philosophy professor’s argument in favor of a higher minimum wage, but I think that my analysis is applicable to any policy dispute.
