Jimmy Carter will win a Grammy this year for Best Spoken Word Album. His “Our Endangered Values: America’s Moral Crisis” is nominated for the award along with albums by Bill Maher Al Franken, Bob Newhart, and Ossie Davis & Ruby Dee. Grammy voters gave the spoken word award to prominent Democrats in 2004 (Bill Clinton) and 2005 (Barack Obama). One more prediction is in order. In 2007, Al Gore will be nominated for (and win) the award when “An Inconvenient Truth” goes audio.
