The Greensboro ABC Board releases a prepared statement on general Katie Alley’s dismissal last week.

The statement cites the private investigator’s report that “found violations involving distressed liquor, mini bottles, repayment of travel expenses, and the receipt of meals and lodging from liquor industry representatives. …..In addition to the discovery of and confirmation of the rule violations, the ISS investigation revealed a pattern of behavior by Ms. Alley that showed efforts to conceal her actions and mislead investigators.”

The N&R has been trying to get a copy of the report, and Mark Binker has pressed board members to elaborate on the report, not to mention Roger Cotten, the lone board member who voted not to fire Alley. But everyone remains tight-lipped.

Meanwhile, High Point mayoral candidates debate the that city’s ABC system, which has had employee problems of its own.
