According to figures released by DPI today, schools making expected or high growth dipped “slightly” to 69% this year. This is down from 75% last year and 94% two years ago. As a point of reference, schools meeting AYP are also down from 70.5% last year to 56.3% this year.
Close to 25% of North Carolina high schools (92) scored below 60% on the performance composite. This included 44 regular high schools, 46 alternative high schools, and 2 charter schools. While more alternative and regular high schools scored below 60% on the performance composite, fewer charter schools did so this year.
DPI has not released the disaggregated data sets, so the worst is yet to come.
