In a recent New York Times piece, a writer who is with the American Enterprise Institute made the claim that Obamacare isn’t really all that bad because it’s based on “conservative” ideas. Michael Cannon of Cato Institute, whose analysis of Obamacare deserves some sort of a medal, demolishes that notion here.

If the tremendous politicization of medical care, which is exactly what Obamacare does, is a conservative idea, then we should remember that F. A. Hayek took pains to tell people that he was not a conservative.
