If you haven’t yet heard, Jane Mayer of The New Yorker has just done a hit piece on Art Pope that is cut out of the same bolt of slimy cloth as her earlier attack on Charles and David Koch.

Cato’s David Boaz has written a counter-attack for Cato@Liberty that eviscerates Mayer’s entire project.

You’ve got to wonder: Would The New Yorker fail to sell if it didn’t include scurrilous assaults on people who use their wealth to slow the growth of the mega-state? Would the Kochs and Popes be all right if they spent their money on the luxury products advertised in the magazine rather than funding organizations like JLF? Of course!
