Dennis Prager hits the nail on the head in his column today. As he explains, the rioting is over a law that allows a worker under age 26 to be fired within his first two years on the job. How hideous!

Of course, all the laws and union policies (almost the same thing) that are said to “protect” workers have a considerable cost — that of economic stultification. “Eurosclerosis” is a good term for it. It’s the inevitable result of a socialistic mindset. I particularly like this line: “Socialism teaches its citizens to expect everything even if they contribute nothing.”

Capital and productive people will bail out of France, Germany (which is losing population) and other nations that get stuck in the bog of socialism. Both economic and social decay are the inevitable results.
