David and Mitch, I have discussed them before on TLR.
Suffice it to say, negative rights ? self-evident rights intrinsic to an individual human being, bestowed there by Creator God ? are anathema to messianic Marxist/Leninists wanting people to look to the central government as from whence cometh our help.
They much prefer the concept of positive rights, whereby they are the godlike beings bestowing privileges such as “free” healthcare and “correct” wages and so forth, after taking them from other individuals according to their means.
