Alex Baltzegar is the Political Reporter for the Carolina Journal. He covers North Carolina politics and elections, especially matters pertaining to the state legislature.
Before coming to the Carolina Journal, Alex worked on numerous political campaigns and served as a staffer in both chambers of the N.C. General Assembly. Prior to his employment in the world of politics, he wrote for a Pennsylvania-based magazine called Merion West.
Alex graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he studied economics and political science. He resides in Apex, N.C. with his wife, Lauren, and their dog, Buckley.
