I am a full-time history teacher, as well as an interpreter (“re-enactor”) of George Washington. My thesis was on George Washington. I worked at George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate for ten (10) years as a guide and researcher. I have portrayed George Washington since 2007. I have portrayed General Washington at Mount Vernon; for schools; governmental organizations; and for the Washington family at their annual family reunions. I have addressed the Federal Circuit Bar Association in Washington, D.C.; the Daughters of the American Revolution; the Sons of the American Revolution; the Society of the Cincinnati; U.S. congressmen; U.S. senators; the National Park Service; and various colleges and universities. I am currently the official George Washington for the City of Alexandria, Virginia. As well, I was just selected as the James Madison Fellow for the Commonwealth of Virginia, 2021-2022. I am, first and foremost, an educator and academic portraying Washington with the goal and intention of informing, inspiring and interacting with audiences across the country and around the world.
