Jane K. Fernandes is provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at the University of North Carolina at Asheville. She holds a B.A.in French and Comparative Literature from Trinity College in Hartford, CT and a master’s and Ph.D. in comparative literature from the University of Iowa in Iowa City.
