Michael Rizzo is a lecturer of economics at the University of Rochester. He is also the founder and director of the Alexander Hamilton Institute at Rochester. He obtained his Ph.D .in economics from Cornell University (labor eonomics, higher education) and his undergraduate degree from Amherst College. Rizzo was formerly an investment banking analyst for Putnam, Lovell and Thornton (now Jefferies). Rizzo has also been an assistant professor of economics at Centre College (Kentucky) and a senior economist and director of summer programs for the American Institute for Economic Research in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, a consultant for Scannell & Kurz (enrollment management) and the Center for Governmental Research (public policy) and a fellow of the Cornell Higher Education Research Institute.
