Scott Lassiter is a licensed professional public school administrator currently leading a school that serves at-risk middle grades students.  Also, he is the legislative liaison for the Wake County Public Schools Division of Principals and Assistant Principals.  He is a native of Wake County and attended Apex schools.  Upon graduating from NC State University with a degree in political science and secondary education he taught middle and high school social studies before earning his masters degree in school administration at NC Central University.  His first administrative assignment was as the assistant principal of a large public year-round middle school in north Raleigh.  Lassiter is currently pursuing his doctorate of education in school leadership from NC State.
In addition to his professional roles, Lassiter has remained civically involved.  He previously served 4 years on the town council of Apex, is the president and founder of a non-profit organization to support troubled youths. As of August 2020, he was a candidate for Wake County’s Soil and Water Conservation Board of Supervisors.  His interest and theories in politics and public policy were shaped early and solidified during his time interning for 2 NC House Representatives.
Lassiter resides in Cary with his wife Jamie, also a public administrator, and his dog Nash who seems uninterested in matters of public policy preferring to limit his political thought to benign topics such as bone vs. stuffed animal.
