Sid is a recently retired, life-sciences/healthcare industry executive. Over the course of his career, his experiences have included: Executive Management, Strategic Planning, Post-Merger Business Integration, Marketing, Account Management and Field Leadership.  Prior to his retirement, he was an Executive Director of Novartis Pharmaceuticals, Corp., working with Novartis’ Executive Committee.  He was responsible for leading an organization, which developed and executed initiatives leveraging competencies and resources across the global Novartis enterprise, to create mutually productive, business and clinical collaborations.  He served as a member of the Novartis General Medicines Leadership Forum (GMLF), which was responsible for organizational strategy.

Prior to joining Novartis, Sid enjoyed a long tenure with Johnson & Johnson, where had progressively greater leadership roles at several J&J operating companies, which included J&J Healthcare Systems (JJ HCS), a shared resources and services entity, with fiduciary responsibility for providing operational, logistical support, account management and contracting programs, across all US J&J operating companies. At JJ HCS, his responsibilities spanned two operating companies and three business units.  He lead the development and implementation of multi-operating company business integration plans, strategic product plans, account marketing and contracting strategies, all focused on Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO’s), Government (VA, DOD), Academic Medical Centers, and Integrated Health Delivery Networks (IDN’s).

Current Community & Civic Commitments:

Since his retirement and relocation to Charlotte, NC, Sid has been actively engaged in community service.  He has been serving as a Certified Mentor for SCORE for 4 years. SCORE, a resource partner to the SBA, focuses on counseling entrepreneurs who are in the process of establishing and/or growing early stage businesses.  Sid is a past SCORE VP, Marketing.

He is incoming Board Chair, of NC MedAssist, a not-for-profit, statewide licensed pharmacy, with a mission to provide free prescription medications, healthcare advocacy and related educational services to low income, uninsured NC residents.  He serves on both the Governance and Pharmacy Committees.  Sid also serves as a member of the Medication Access Committee, of the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (NAFCC), a Washington, DC based organization, representing 400 free and charitable clinics and free pharmacies across the US.
