Anthony D. (Tony) Fels received his Ph.D. from Stanford University in 1987 and has been a member of the History Department at the University of San Francisco since 1989, chairing the department in 1997-2000 and 2003-2006. He teaches courses on a variety of topics in United States history and has published several articles on Freemasonry and American religious history.
