Showing appreciation for effective teachers was the focus
last week as
the NC Education Alliance partnered with Charlotte’s Classroom
Teachers’ Association on its year-end event for teachers. A featured
speaker was Park Gillespie, a middle school teacher from South Carolina
who won the 2004 “American Candidate” competition on Showtime. His
remarks about the need to reform the school bureaucracy mirrored issues
Lindalyn Kakadelis discusses in her speeches. Last month
when she addressed the Down East Republicans, her comments generated a
front-page story in the Washington Daily News.
