While the Obama Justice Department has decided it doesn’t care about instances of black-on-white racism, at least his Agriculture Department apparently does. I posted a link earlier today of an Ag Department employee bragging at an NAACP meeting how she discriminated against a white farmer. Here again is Shirley Sherrod, who was appointed last year by Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack:

The Agriculture Department announced Monday, shortly after FoxNews.com published its initial report on the video, that Sherrod had resigned.

“There is zero tolerance for discrimination at USDA, and I strongly condemn any act of discrimination against any person,” Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said in a written statement. “We have been working hard through the past 18 months to reverse the checkered civil rights history at the department and take the issue of fairness and equality very seriously.”

I should point out that it was no mainstream media outlet that covered this story. It was Breitbart’s BigGovernment.com that revealed the tolerance for racism at this particular NAACP meeting, and it was spread via Fox News and blogs. Increasingly, alternative media is the straw that stirs the drink.
