Why this matters: Air Berlin is American Airlines’ alliance partner in Oneworld and American Airlines’ second largest hub is, of course, in Charlotte. So if we’re going to see additional flights from CLT to Germany, they would presumable be to Dusseldorf (DUS) on Air Berlin or American Airlines. That DFW-DUS never got off the ground isn’t a good sign for CLT-DUS materializing any time soon.
