Finishing off the final week in June, JLF brought in environmental consultant, Joel Schwartz as the headliner for a statewide tour. The tour coincided with the release of his report: A North Carolina Citizen’s Guide to Global Warming. As our state continues to discuss actions North Carolinians can take to reduce CO2 emissions and pay more for our utilities through the forced diversification of our energy portfolio, Joel provided the other side of what’s become a one-sided debate. Check out this blog for an idea of how one-sided and arrogant the issue has become. The tour stimulated media response from the Asheville and Henderson Tribunes and from local NPR outlets. Chad Adams spent time with WSJS in Winston-Salem and Hal Rowe, AM 1290 in Hickory to promote the tour, which was well attended.
