Alamance County Health Department workers Kathleen Shapley-Quinn and Karen Saxer still don’t know if they have jobs, even after District Attorney Rob Johnson cleared them of wrongdoing for possible ‘medical assistance fraud.’

Health department board members were also asked to review a draft policy covering the use of aliases in word excuse notes:

Among other things, the draft recommends a client that requests the use of an alias fill out a “Personal Data Continuation Sheet” that will allow the use of one alias name. The alternate name also is listed on the patient registration screen and included on the “outside of the medical record” and any other forms in the record.

The board agreed by consensus to review the draft before voting on it.

I’m really confused here. If I were dealing with the county on a particular matter and I wanted to use an alias, what would happen? Anyone think the county would be curious as to why I was using an alias, or would they just pencil-whip me right on through?

But now we have a county board reviewing a draft policy that basically endorses identity fraud. That’s so totally not right and is a perfect example of why citizens are upset about illegal immigration.
